The Bushwackers 50th Anniversary
Be part of the story!
What other Australian band has celebrated 50 years of continuous performance?
We’re planning something special to celebrate our achievement as pioneers of the unique Australian ‘bush-rock’ genre and as Australia’s only band to have celebrated 50 years of continuous performance – that we know of.
We are excited to tell our story, we need your help to be part of it!
With the help of funding from the Australia Council For The Arts, we are mounting a comprehensive online exhibition with a dedicated website featuring a swag of memorabilia and anecdotes collected over the decades.
Not to mention the impact of generations of adults and school kids bush dancing to our best-selling song and dance books.
You’re a vital part of the story!
The online exhibition will showcase special public spaces acknowledging your support, personal reflections, memories and memorabilia.
Like the fans who already have, we want you to share your memories, moments, thoughts, written, recorded, and filmed.
HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP:
We are on the hunt for stories, photos, posters, flyers, articles/reviews, videos from gigs, even your own drawings, paintings or writing!
1. Gather your Bushies memorabilia as scans or digital images.
2. Enter your details in the form below.
3. Use this link to upload your files. (please match the file name on your upload with the file name on the form).

4. If you have treasures that cannot be digitally recorded or you prefer to have a chat about your contribution, enter Contact Me in the message below.
But that’s not all!
Much of what The Bushwackers have done over the decades has been to re-interpret traditional songs and tunes, we think it’s time you had a go too.
Start creating your own versions of our ‘hits’. It could simply be your re-mix of what we’ve already done, a version adding beats, loops and effects, or one adding your vocals and instruments of your choice.
When the online exhibition is live, a selection will be available in the ‘music room’ for other fans to enjoy.
To start creating something new and special, send an expression of interest to info @ thebushwackers.com.au with your expression of interest and we can help you make it happen with sound files.
We’re very excited about the next chapter of Australian music and song by The Bushwackers and thank you in advance for helping us tell our story.
Please pass this link on to anyone you know who’s encountered the band over the years.
Thanks from Roger and Dobe
…and on behalf of the 100 other Bushwackers through the decades

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
I’ve shared a few old photos from around 1979/80 via messenger but I will definitely upload some high Res scans.
What a fabulous initiative, filled with opportunity for delight. Looking forward to celebrating this wonderful milestone with everyone.
