Well we are pleasantly surprised to have received two Nominations for Gold Guitars for the 2012 CMAA Music Awards of Australia. ‘I Am Australian’ Dobe Newton’s well known song co-written with Bruce Woodley is up for Toyota Heritage Song of the Year and ‘The Waves of Bondi’ from our ‘wizz bang’ Official Dance Album is also nominated for Fender Instrumental of the Year .
Altogether it’s a great outcome for our Dance Album and an amazing tribute to the musicianship and production of The Bushwackers albums. We are very excited about being part of the mix and up against some very tough competition this year!
Two years ago we broke the drought on our long standing run of gold guitar nominations by winning our first Gold Guitar in 20 years. Bush Ballad Of The Year won the gong with ‘Road To Thargomindah’, so perhaps we are still on a winning streak? Only time will tell.
